Shepherd's Bush North

Shepherd's Bush North is the area immediately north of Shepherd's Bush Green in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. It is centred on Uxbridge Road and the narrow lanes that lead off it, with rows of terraced housing, small shops and community facilities. A longstanding street market runs along Uxbridge Road, its metal canopies and tightly packed stalls forming an open shopping arcade between Goldhawk Road and the Green. A short walk from the market sits the Shepherd's Bush Empire, a listed music venue that began life as a cinema and remains a landmark on Uxbridge Road.

The area mixes homes with local trade and has schools, faith buildings and charity-run spaces. Transport links include Central, Hammersmith & City and Circle line services and the West London Line, which shape daily life for commuters and traders. Daytime activity focuses on the market, cafés and small retailers; evenings bring live shows at the Empire and pubs on the side streets. Planning and housing projects have altered some streets in recent years, but the market and the theatre continue to mark the neighbourhood's identity.
