About

Surrey Heath is a local government district in northwest Surrey centred on Camberley, with settlements including Frimley, Frimley Green, Bagshot, Chobham, Lightwater and Windlesham. Camberley is the administrative centre and contains the main town centre and business areas. The M3 and A30 cross the district and provide road links into London and the southwest. Local services include Frimley Park Hospital and a network of community facilities, while a mix of housing, village centres and small industrial estates shapes the district's land use.
Large tracts of heath and woodland define much of Surrey Heath. Chobham Common, a National Nature Reserve of around 400 hectares, forms the heart of the district’s open space and is part of the Thames Basin Heaths Special Protection Area; it supports ground-nesting birds such as nightjar and woodlark. Other green spaces include Lightwater Country Park and the lakes at Frimley Lodge Park, with public paths and conservation work linking the commons, villages and town fringes.
