Walker North

Walker North sits on the north bank of the River Tyne, east of Newcastle city centre. The area is mainly residential, with traditional terraces and mid-20th-century housing laid out around local shopping streets and schools. Walkergate Metro station provides a direct link to the city and coast, and main roads offer quick access across the Tyne. The riverside edge and former shipyard sites reflect an industrial past tied to Tyne shipbuilding, with several streets and plots that once supported that industry now repurposed for housing and light industry.
