About

Aberaeron sits on the eastern shore of Cardigan Bay in Ceredigion, where the Afon Aeron reaches the sea at a harbour. The town is laid out around the quay, which is edged by a row of painted Regency-style terraces and a grid of streets. Fishing boats and pleasure craft share the water. Shops, a market hall and a promenade face the harbour; the Ceredigion Coast Path runs along the seafront and offers coastal walking to neighbouring villages.

Llanrhystud lies a few miles south along the A487 beside the mouth of the Afon Wyre, with a pebble shore that is exposed at low tide. The village has a parish church dedicated to St Rhystud and a cluster of services and houses set back from the road. Local access paths link the beach with the coast path, making short walks between fields and shore possible. Road and foot connections make both settlements straightforward to reach for day visits within Ceredigion.
