Adamsdown

Adamsdown is a compact residential ward situated directly to the east of Cardiff city centre. The area is primarily characterised by Victorian and Edwardian terraced housing, which provides much of the city's private rental accommodation. Its main thoroughfare is City Road, a long street lined with a high concentration of independent shops, international grocery stores, and casual eateries. The ward is densely populated, with a significant student population due to its proximity to the university campuses.

The area contains a notable amount of social housing, including the large, low-rise Moorlands Park estate. Adamsdown is bordered by major transport routes like Newport Road and the railway line, which contribute to its urban feel. A distinct local landmark is the historic Ebenezer Chapel on Moira Terrace, a prominent Grade II listed building that now serves as a Welsh Baptist church. The ward also includes the small but active Splott Park, providing green space for the community.
