Blaina

Blaina is situated in the Ebbw Valley, following the course of the river and the A467 road. The settlement is linear, with residential terraces built on the valley slopes. The landscape is dominated by former industrial land now largely reclaimed, with forestry covering the higher ground. The community is centred around the main commercial street running through the town.

A notable local landmark is the large, circular Nantyglo Roundhouses, a Scheduled Ancient Monument of early 19th-century ironworkers' dwellings. The area's industrial past is evident in place names and old infrastructure routes. Modern facilities include community centres and sports fields, with the wider valley providing walking and cycling routes along the river corridor.
