About

Bodedern is an inland village on Anglesey surrounded by fields and lanes that lead toward the island’s west coast. The village has a small cluster of houses, a community hall and St Edern’s Church, which dates back several centuries and stands near a sequence of cottages and farms. Local footpaths link the village to nearby lanes and to low-lying wetlands where drainage ditches and hedgerows mark traditional parish boundaries. Everyday life in Bodedern centres on farming, village events and the short drives to larger service centres elsewhere on the island.

A few miles west, Rhosneigr sits on Anglesey’s southwest shoreline with sandy beaches, dunes and a small brackish lake, Llyn Maelog, tucked behind the shore. The coastal path runs close to the village and the beaches are used for surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing when conditions allow. To the north, the flat land rises toward the airfield at Valley, visible on clear days. Rhosneigr’s mix of shoreline, lagoon and recreational launch points makes it a local hub for watersports and coastal walks.
