Bynea

Bynea sits on the eastern edge of Llanelli, positioned on the north bank of the Loughor estuary. The ward is primarily residential, characterised by terraced housing and modern estates. Its landscape is flat, with the main A484 road running through it, connecting to the wider Llanelli area. The estuary's mudflats and saltmarsh form a significant part of the local environment, influencing the area's character.

The ward's western boundary is marked by the tidal River Loughor, separating it from Swansea. A notable local feature is the Bynea stretch of the Millennium Coastal Path, which provides direct access to the extensive waterfront parkland and trails. The area has a strong community focus, with local shops and services centred along the main thoroughfare.
