Camden

Camden sits in the London Borough of Camden, north of the West End and centred on Camden Town station. Regent's Canal cuts through the district, and the towpath links markets, pubs and small workshops along the water. Camden Lock is an actual canal lock where barges are raised and lowered; stalls and permanent units line both banks. Camden High Street and Kentish Town Road bring shoppers and commuters to the markets, workshops and food stalls that cluster under the railway arches.

Music venues and markets define large parts of the district. The Roundhouse in Chalk Farm hosts concerts and performances, and the Electric Ballroom stands on Camden High Street. Stables Market occupies converted 19th-century horse hospital and railway stables, leaving narrow lanes and ironwork from the original structures. Street traders, independent shops and canal boats share space with offices and housing, and the area's industrial and cultural layers remain visible in brick, cast iron and canal infrastructure.
