About

The area is centred around several small villages, including Corris, Aberangell, and Mallwyd, which are connected by the A487 and A470 roads. The landscape is characterised by forestry plantations and upland sheep farming, with the Aran Fawddwy massif forming a significant part of the terrain.

The local economy has historical roots in slate quarrying, with the Braich Goch quarries above Corris being a notable former site. The ward's specific location places it within the Snowdonia National Park, influencing land use and planning.
