Eaglescliffe West

Eaglescliffe West is a largely residential ward situated on the southwestern edge of the Stockton-on-Tees borough. The area is defined by its established suburban housing, ranging from inter-war semis to more recent developments, set along quiet, leafy streets. Its southern boundary is formed by the River Tees, with areas like The Leas and Urlay Nook Road providing green, elevated spaces overlooking the water and the countryside beyond into North Yorkshire.

The ward is well-connected by the A135 Yarm Road and the nearby A19, facilitating travel to Stockton, Yarm, and Teesside. A notable local landmark is Preston Park Museum & Grounds, a Victorian mansion set within extensive parkland, which includes a recreated period street. The area also contains several trading estates and the Tees Barrage International White Water Centre, a major facility for canoe slalom and recreational water sports on the river.
