Godre'r Graig

Godre'r Graig is a community ward situated within the larger village of the same name, located in the Dulais Valley. The area is characterised by its steep hillside setting, with residential streets built on the slopes overlooking the valley floor. Historically, its development was closely tied to the local coal mining industry. The community retains a strong sense of its industrial heritage amidst the surrounding green hills of the South Wales landscape.

The ward's layout reflects its topography, with terraced housing following the contours of the land. A notable local feature is the large, disused limestone quarry visible on the hillside, a remnant of the area's industrial past. Social and recreational facilities are centred around the community hall and the local rugby club, which serves as a focal point. The area provides views across the valley towards the neighbouring communities of Seven Sisters and Crynant.
