Gwernaffield and Gwernymynydd

The Gwernaffield and Gwernymynydd ward lies on the western edge of Flintshire, a rural area of rolling hills and small settlements bordering Denbighshire. The landscape is defined by farmland and woodland, with the community primarily spread across its two main villages and several smaller hamlets. The area sits within the larger Alyn Valley, with the River Alyn flowing through the southern part of the ward.

A notable local landmark is the historic Gwysaney Hall estate, a privately owned Tudor mansion set within its own parkland. The area's economy has traditionally been linked to agriculture, though many residents now commute to larger towns like Mold or Chester.
