About

Pembrey ward lies along the eastern shore of the Carmarthenshire coastline, centred around the village of Pembrey. The area is dominated by Pembrey Country Park, one of the largest of its kind in Wales, which encompasses extensive pine forest trails, a long sandy beach, and a former military airfield. This blend of natural and historical landscapes defines much of the ward's character and land use.

Inland from the park, the landscape transitions to more typical rural settings with farmland and smaller settlements. The ward includes the hamlet of Pwll and borders the larger town of Burry Port. The area's geography is significantly shaped by the presence of the Millennium Coastal Park, a major regeneration project that has transformed former industrial land into a continuous public space along the estuary.
