Risca West

Risca West ward is situated on the western side of the town of Risca, within the Caerphilly county borough. The area is primarily residential, characterised by a mix of traditional terraced housing and more modern estates. It lies in the steep-sided valley of the River Ebbw, with the surrounding hillsides covered in woodland. The ward includes local amenities such as schools and community facilities serving its immediate population.

The geography is defined by the A467 road, which runs through the area, connecting it to Newport and the wider valleys. A notable local feature is the Sirhowy Valley Walk, a recreational path following a former railway line that passes through the ward.
