Seaford West

Seaford West ward encompasses the western residential neighbourhoods of the coastal town of Seaford. The area is characterised by post-war housing estates, local shopping parades, and several schools serving the community. Its boundaries extend inland from the English Channel coastline, which here features the long, straight shingle beach of Seaford Bay, backed by a substantial concrete sea wall. The land rises gently from the shore towards the South Downs National Park, which forms the ward's northern limit.

The landscape is defined by the grassy slopes of Seaford Head, a prominent chalk headland marking the eastern edge of the bay. This open space, with its cliff-top walking paths and golf course, provides a clear physical divide from the central part of town. Inland, the quiet, suburban streets are organised around key routes like Sutton Park Road, leading towards the larger green expanse of the Cuckmere River valley. The ward's western edge is largely agricultural, transitioning into the wider Lewes district countryside.
