Trowbridge

Trowbridge is situated in the east of Cardiff, bordering the River Rhymney which separates it from Newport. The ward is primarily residential, characterised by a mix of private and social housing developments built from the mid-20th century onward. Its landscape is largely flat, with several large retail parks and light industrial units located along its main arterial routes, contributing to the local employment base. The area is served by key roads like Wentloog Road and the Southern Way.

The community is anchored by facilities such as the Eastern Leisure Centre and Trowbridge Community Centre. A notable local feature is the extensive area of playing fields and green space known as Trowbridge Green, which provides recreational space amidst the urban layout. Public transport connections link the area to Cardiff city centre and neighbouring suburbs. The ward's eastern edge is defined by the straightened channels and flood defences of the Rhymney River corridor.
