About

Tywyn is a coastal town on Cardigan Bay, with a long beach and a historic promenade. The town centre contains shops and the narrow-gauge Talyllyn Railway terminus, leading inland. Its most significant feature is the St Cadfan's Stone, a 7th-century inscribed pillar inside the parish church.

Immediately north, the community of Llangelynnin occupies a steep, rural landscape at the foothills of the Cadair Idris range. Its ancient, isolated church, dedicated to St Celynnin, sits high on the slopes overlooking the coast. The area is defined by quiet lanes, stone-walled fields, and access to upland walking routes.
