Canton (Welsh: Treganna) is an inner-city district immediately west of Cardiff city centre. Cowbridge Road East runs through the heart of the area and acts as the main shopping street, with shops, cafés, takeaways and pubs lining the pavement. Terraced houses from the late 19th and early 20th centuries make up much of the residential fabric, interspersed with short-run flats and small gardens. Regular bus routes use the main road and link Canton to the city centre and other districts.
