Clydach & Mawr

Clydach & Mawr is situated in the northern reaches of the Swansea area, characterised by a mix of residential and semi-rural landscapes. The community is centred around the Clydach village, with housing estates and local amenities spread across the lower slopes of the surrounding hills. The area's geography is defined by the River Tawe, which flows through the valley, and the wooded slopes that rise from its banks.

The landscape is marked by the presence of the Swansea Canal, a historic waterway that once served local industry and now provides a route for walking and cycling. Remnants of the area's industrial past, including old works sites, are integrated into the green spaces. Mawr encompasses more open, elevated land to the north, featuring farmland and smaller settlements set within the higher ground of the county.
