Penderry

Penderry is a residential ward located in the northern part of the city of Swansea. The area is largely defined by its housing, consisting of a mix of traditional terraced homes and post-war estates. It is bordered by Townhill to the south and the green expanse of Kilvey Hill to the east. The ward functions as a primarily local community, with its own shopping parades and schools serving the immediate neighbourhood.

The landscape is marked by noticeable gradients, with streets offering elevated views across parts of the city towards Swansea Bay. A network of footpaths provides access to the lower slopes of Kilvey Hill, a large area of common land covered in grasses and bracken. This open hillspace forms a significant rural backdrop to the urban housing, used for walking and recreation by local residents.
