About

Rhos-on-Sea is a coastal settlement situated between Colwyn Bay and Llandudno. The area centres around a compact promenade and a small harbour, with residential streets rising gently inland. It functions primarily as a residential suburb and a quieter alternative to its larger neighbours, with a mix of local shops and services along the main road.

The promenade is backed by greensward and leads to the ancient St. Trillo's Chapel, a tiny sixth-century cell built directly over a holy well. The rocky shoreline and concrete breakwaters of the harbour are typical of this stretch of the North Wales coast. Inland, the layout is characterised by post-war housing estates and the prominent Rhos Abbey golf course.
